When we arrive at your home, we will choose a location (good ventilation is appreciated due to COVID-19 concerns) where you and your pet feel comfortable. Dr. McPhee will review the process and discuss any questions you may have.

Restful relaxation: If your pet is still eating, this is a great time to offer a delicious treat (consider ice cream, cheese, peanut butter or whipped cream), and Dr. McPhee will give a small injection under the skin. Within 5 - 10 minutes, your pet will be completely relaxed. This relaxation takes away any pain and allows their entire body to become calm and peaceful.

Gentle passing: When your pet is ready and everyone is comfortable, we will administer another medication. This medicine numbs the mind, allowing the pet to fall asleep and pass peacefully.
