Home Hospice Consultation

A hospice consultation will include an in-depth discussion of your pet’s current status, including comfort, pain and other quality of life indicators. Dr. Claire will ask questions to better understand how your pet is interacting with its environment.

Dr. Claire will review your pet’s medical records and may advise medication dosage or frequency adjustment to improve your pet’s comfort. She may recommend over the counter supplements to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.

This may also be an opportunity to make a plan about choosing euthanasia and how to best navigate that transition for your family.

Home Euthanasia

Euthanasia means “a good death.” This home visit includes discussion and brief examination, sedation and pet euthanasia in the privacy and comfort of home. We avoid the need to get into the car to go to the veterinary hospital and the related stress. We take our time to allow pet parents to say goodbye and grieve in their own way. In this way, we can take our time to honor your bond and life together.
